Hi Horticultural Media Association of Australia members,
I’ve attached a invite to our opening night next week. If someone would like to come along please (let me know):
More than 50 Australian artists will bring contemporary art and craft to the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney this month, as Artisans in the Gardens celebrates its 25th anniversary.
The free exhibition runs from 24 October to 1 November, with sculpture, ceramics, textiles, jewellery, glass and more on display across Lion Gate Lodge, Victoria Lodge and the surrounding gardens. Visitors can meet the artists’ work in a beautiful garden setting, with original pieces available to buy.
There’s a feel-good story behind the exhibition, too: since 2017, Artisans has raised more than $1 million to support Botanic Gardens of Sydney. In the past two years, $56,495 has gone to the Education Access Program, helping students from disadvantaged communities take part in the Gardens’ education programs. Funds raised also support the Gardens’ work in science, horticulture and conservation.
I’ve attached the media release and a selection of images. Interviews can be arranged with curator Bronwyn Joffick, exhibiting artists or Ciara Timlin, Executive Director of Foundation & Friends of the Botanic Gardens. Please let me know if you’d like any further information or images.
Kind regards,
