President of a tourism initiative called Eden of the East, Damian Andrews, has sent HMAA members an open invitation to be part of an inaugural annual awards program in Victoria called the ‘Power of Colour 2026’, which is celebrating gardens, gardeners, horticultural industries and Yallourn’s garden-city heritage.
“We welcome involvement from Horticultural Media Association Australia, alongside organisations across Latrobe and beyond, helping showcase their members, expertise and respective regions,” writes Damian.
He says there are opportunities for members, organisations and horticultural businesses to participate in the community and industry awards. The Foundation is also inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified people who may wish to serve as independent event judges.
The Power of Colour Awards celebrates Latrobe’s gardens, gardeners and shared creativity through a weekend of garden visits, awards and community and industry showcases over the weekend of November 14-15, 2026.
