Chloe Thomson announced as new editor of ABC Organic Gardener
Publisher Nextmedia, along with ABC Magazines are delighted to announce the appointment of Chloe Thomson as ABC Organic Gardener magazine’s new editor. Chloe will take the reins from long-standing editor Steve Payne, from the spring issue, on sale from 15th September 2025.
Chloe brings 18 years of experience in the horticulture and media industries, specialising in horticultural communications. A passionate gardener and trained horticulturist, she is known for her down-to-earth approach and her dedication to making gardening accessible and successful for all.
“I’m honoured to take on the role of editor at ABC Organic Gardener,” said Chloe. “Building on the inspiring work of Steve and the team, I’m looking forward to sharing modern, sustainable and intuitive gardening stories that help readers connect with their gardens and the natural world.”
Based in Melbourne, Chloe gardens on a 1000 square metre, sloping suburban block and is a strong advocate for creating green spaces that serve both people and the planet. As a busy mum of two, she understands the importance of gardens that are practical, joyful and welcoming.
The appointment marks a new chapter in the title’s journey, as Steve Payne steps away after 25 years of guiding ABC Organic Gardener with wisdom, insight and heart. His contribution has been invaluable and deeply appreciated.
