Do you have weed photos that could be used for a Weed ID App?
Those photos are wanted for a “Computer Vision Weeds ID App and WeedScan Community Management and Communication System” project, which is underway. The app will employ AI (artificial intelligence) to recognise and identify weeds.
More information on the project can be found here:
One of the project leads, Centre for Invasive Species Solutions (CISS – https://invasives.com.au/), is looking for good quality weed photos for the development of the Weeds ID App.
Thousands of photos are needed to train the app to recognise the weed species and that is where you and/or those within your networks come in!
If you or someone you know is lucky enough to be spending time out in the field or already has good quality photos of weeds, send them as per attached instructions to andrew.mitchell@invasives.com.au.
Contact Andrew for guidance in the types of that are needed for the app.
