If we ever get to travel again, this could be one for the diary. The NZ Tree Crops National Conference is to be held at the Otaki racecourse on March 25-27, 2022. Otaki is on the New Zealand’s North Island, half way between Wellington and Palmerston North. Organisers promise an interesting line up of speakers and site visits.
The New Zealand Tree Crops Association (NZTCA), known as Tree Crops, is a voluntary organisation promoting interest in useful trees, such as those producing fruit, nuts, timber, fuel, wood, livestock fodder, bee forage and other productive crops. See its website for more information at https://treecrops.org.nz/.
The annual conference offers upwards of 150 attendees a chance to participate in workshops and speaker sessions across a range of subjects. Afternoons will be spent visiting properties in Otaki and Levin to view some of the diversity of produce being grown and processed in the area.
A full list of speakers will be available shortly and online early bird registrations are available from October with a registration option for non-members. Contact Linda Stopforth, stop4th@xtra.co.nz, for more information.
