National Poinsettia Day in the US (December 12)

Poinsettia has a national day in the US – December 12

As we approach National Poinsettia Day in the US (December 12), the Society of American Florists has released an interesting one-page information sheet about this festive plant.

As well as telling the story of how the poinsettia became revered in Mexico as Flores de Noche Buena (Flowers of the Holy Night), the factsheet also debunks the belief that poinsettias are poisonous and states that any concerns about latex allergy issues and poinsettias are also unfounded. See the Information Sheet HERE.
