Sun shines on the Melbourne Flower Show

After a hot week, visitors, landscape designers and stallholders at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show welcomed the cool clear sunny day that dawned for Day 1 of the show. This year’s show features eight show gardens with two receiving gold and one going on to be named Best in Show. The Best in Show this year went to designers Emmaline Bowman of Stem Landscape Architecture & Design and Liam Riley of ID Landscaping. Inspired by rural Australia with a sustainable lens. The garden, which featured native plants, hay bales and a windmill, was also awarded the HMAA Award for Best Use of Plant Life.

Also receiving Gold was Phil Wither’s garden ‘SaltBush’, designed with Fiona Brockoff and also featuring native plants including some stately banksias.

A full list of winners for the show garden and other categories is available in the attached media release.
