Leaf cutting bees go floral

While this is not a great pic, if you look closely, it is the work of a leaf cutting bee who has decided to go multicoloured using petals. It was snapped in her bee hotel by UK naturalist Kate Bradbury who said: “Nothing makes me happier than when a leafcutter bee decides she’s too cool for leaves and builds her nest using petals instead.” Leaf cutting bees cut out semi-circular sections of leaves to use to create nests. If you’ve noticed local leaf cutting bees taking floral samples, send a pic and let us know. content@hmaaustralia.com.au
