SITplus is a world-class sterile insect technique for Queensland fruit fly, Bactrocera tryoni. Hort Innovation has invested more than $60 million in the program .
The eight-year project has improved fly diet, rearing and rear-out conditions, and fly quality. The development of new strains provides major advances in the economic viability of Queensland fruit fly SIT and the success of SIT fly identification in traps.
