Of all the vegetables grown in our backyard vegie patches, tomatoes have always lead the pack as favourites. It must be the promise of summer that makes us want to plant tomatoes, so we can enjoy their fabulous juicy flavours all summer long.
The Diggers Club started the heirloom tomato craze back in the 1990’s by introducing heirloom varieties to Australian gardeners because their taste, yield and flavour are perfect for backyard vegie gardeners.
Today all gardeners can join the heirloom revolution and enjoy the flavours and colours of heirloom tomato seedlings that will be on sale at local nurseries and garden centres from September 1st. Through grower networks Australia-wide, 4 standout heirloom varieties will be available to buy and take home ready for spring planting.
