On Tuesday night, the Horticulture Media Association of South Australia hosted a special presentation by Trevor Nottle, an internationally respected garden historian, landscape architect and acclaimed horticultural author, who is also an SA local and an HMAA member. Victoria Pearce and Dianne Hall report on a wonderful evening.
With more than 17 gardening books to his name, Trevor is best known for his work on garden history, old roses, and, more recently, climate-ready gardening for Mediterranean and changing climates.
We also learnt that he collects snuff bottles and antique satsuma and that his latest book will be released any day now!
Drawing on his experiences across Australia and overseas, Trevor shared sharp insights, rich storytelling, and practical knowledge. From heritage gardens to future-focused plant choices, it was a fantastic evening.
Chaired by Michael Keelan, an excellent night was enjoyed by all. For the ‘Show and Tell’ session, a regular highlight at the dinners, it was lovely to welcome CEO Chris Wiltshire from Master Landscapers and members of MLSA.
