Henry Moore at Kew gardens

For those travelling to the UK this year, include a visit to Kew Gardens in Richmond, which is the setting for a major display of sculptor Henry Moore’s large and smaller works.

From May 9, discover towering sculptures by Henry Moore, one of Britain’s most renowned artists, in what is the largest ever presentation of his outdoor artworks.

Henry Moore: Monumental Nature exhibition brings art and nature together on an extraordinary scale, blurring the boundaries between sculpture and living form,” says the Kew media release. The exhibit runs until January 31, 2027.

Some 90 smaller sculptures along with drawings, models and sketchbooks – some of which are rarely accessible to the public – will be on show at the Shirley Sherwood Gallery within Kew Gardens. The gallery will also showcase Monumental Botanical Art, an exhibition featuring botanical paintings from the Shirley Sherwood Collection to complement the perspectives explored in Moore’s work.

The works span Moore’s nearly 70-year career and demonstrate the varying shape and scale of his artworks.

The exhibit is supported by The Nora McNeely Hurley Foundation, with additional support from Sotheby’s and organised by The Henry Moore Foundation. Tickets can be booked online. See this link for a promotional video.
