It has since spread up and down the east coast and across to the Kimberley. It has established in a wide range of environments – rainforests, heathlands, woodlands and wetlands.
Myrtle rust threatens hundreds of species in Australia’s iconic Myrtaceae family. At least 350 have proven susceptible so far.
On Tuesday, November 19, Invasive Species Council CEO, Andrew Cox, will be joined by author and ecologist Tim Low AM, Principal Policy Analyst Dr Carol Booth and special guest, plant pathologist and the Chief Scientist & Director of Science, Education and Conservation at the Botanic Gardens of Sydney, Dr Brett Summerell to discuss what can be done.
