“I can’t look at this glorious yellow tree without smiling! It’s just such a happy colour. Although the hot wind this week has knocked a lot of flowers off. This is the golden trumpet tree (Handroanthus chrysotrichus). Sadly, like the related jacaranda, it is now a weed in South East Queensland and northern NSW. The wind-borne seeds have been coming up where they are not wanted. It’s still impossible not to smile and enjoy these glorious yellow flowers!”
