Postcard from France: Anne Smith sends a postcard from among the hedges at Eyrignac in The Dordogne in June

Graham and I have been enjoying a wonderful floriferous journey through England and France over the past month. The garden at Eyrignac in The Dordogne while not filled with flowers was spectacular with its meticulously hedged rooms and topiary. All the French villages have glorious displays of roses. The many English National Trust gardens in all their variety were an absolute delight as always. Alliums, irises and paeonies provided great splashes of interest in many of the English gardens, roses were out in some places and wild garlic lined woodland paths.
