Nursery and Garden Industry Victoria (NGIV) is delighted to unveil the winners of the inaugural Plant of the Year 2025 awards, recognising outstanding plant varieties that reflect industry innovation and showcase horticultural excellence.
The Plant of the Year overall winner and Shrub of the Year is Runaway Bride™ Hydrangea (Hydrangea hybrid), celebrated for its elegant weeping habit, profusion of lace-cap flowers, and adaptability.

Other winners include Ground Hug™ Myoporum insulare (Specialist Plant of the Year), Ginkgo biloba ‘Lemonlime Spire’ (Tree of the Year), and Dahlia x hybrida ‘Sincerity Rose Bicolour’ (Herbaceous Plant of the Year).
