With a mere 72 hours remaining before this year’s Laurels closes to entries, member AB Bishop from Victoria, speaks about winning a Laurel and urges all to enter and to attend the awards dinner in Adelaide in September.
The HMAA Laurels are one of the highlights of our industry. They provide a wonderful snapshot of what is happening horticulturally around the country, brought to life through the creative talents of our photographers, broadcasters and writers.
I’ve entered over the years because I’m proud of the stories I’ve been able to tell, but I also love seeing the work of others. It keeps me curious, inspires me to improve, and reminds me of the depth of talent within our industry.
Laurels night itself is always a delight – a chance to catch up with colleagues, share stories and laughter, and celebrate the people who communicate and champion horticulture so beautifully. Being shortlisted or winning is a tremendous honour.
