The Golden Wattle (Acacia pycnantha) is the National Floral Emblem of Australia. All States, Territories and the Commonwealth have gazetted 1 September each year as National Wattle Day, which is a Thursday in 2022.
There will a significant number of wattle related activities occurring over August 2022 and on 1 September 2022, which are (or will be) listed on the Queensland Portal page of the Wattle Day Association website. Some of these activities include walks in the Botanical Gardens, morning teas, school tree plantings, etc. Check them out at 2022 ‘Week of the Wattle’ around Australia — Wattle Day.
