Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, and Mr Bunten invite the public to come to the Government House gardens, bring a picnic lunch, spread out a rug or unfold a camping chair and enjoy the surroundings, while listening to a community band or orchestra.
The free events will be held on the first Friday of the month from 12 noon to 2pm.
Just come through the main gates and choose your picnic spot.

On the same dates, free garden tours of the Government House grounds, hosted by the Friends of the Botanic Gardens, will run from 10.45am to 11.45am.
Attendees will have an opportunity to view original plantings of trees, including Moreton Bay Figs and Palms, the Governor’s Rose Garden, the vegetable garden, and ceremonial plantings, including a descendant of the Lone Pine at Gallipoli, planted by His Excellency Sir Eric Neal, and a Claret Ash planted by Her Excellency Marjorie Jackson-Nelson.

Lunch on the Lawns is part of Her Excellency’s and Mr Bunten’s aim to make Government House a place where more South Australians feel welcome and are able to visit.
