Diggers Tomato Taste Test

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the inaugural Diggers Tomato Taste Test where we launched the heirloom movement in Australia back in 1993, and in recognition of the invaluable contributions of supporters like you to the mission of The Diggers Foundation, we are delighted to invite you to a special event.

Join us at Heronswood, the home of The Diggers Foundation
105 Latrobe Parade, Dromana, VIC 3936
Date: Friday, 1st March 2024
Time: 4 – 7pm
Dress Code: Casual Garden Party
At 4.10pm, Heronswood Head Gardener, Bill Bampton, will take you on a ‘gardener’s eye’ tour of our reimagined dry garden and other highlights, followed by refreshments and canapes in the grand Heronswood ‘round room’.
Diggers founders, Clive and Penny Blazey, will share their reflections on connecting Australian gardeners with heirloom seeds and their passion to transform Diggers into Australia’s leading garden charity.
The festivities will flow through to the balcony garden, where you’ll witness the official 30th Tomato Taste Test. Renowned chef Stephanie Alexander will be joined by Blayne Bertoncello, the 2023 winner of the Good Food Guide Best Restaurant of the Year award on our expert taste test panel.
As votes are tallied, we will venture back into the garden for the official opening of the new Seed Saver Garden, generously sponsored by the Yulgilbar Foundation. Guests will also have the opportunity to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts as you experience the magic of Heronswood.
Kindly allow us to express our gratitude and extend a warm welcome to a place you have helped preserve through your unwavering support of The Diggers Club and Foundation.
Please RSVP by Wednesday 14th February to jennyw@diggers.com.au
