It was a meeting of new friends and old acquaintances with an unexpected wow factor at the end reports Toni Salter from New South Wales.
Sixteen HMAA members met for a Christmas lunch at Green Moustache in North Sydney. It was an appropriately lush, green-filled venue overlooking a busy but leafy Miller Street, which is lined with Platanus (London plane trees). It was like turning away from the city as we entered through the magical flowery elevators and stepped into the rooftop restaurant filled with festive revellers.
We enjoyed a delicious two-course lunch menu. Much praise went to the chef for the wonderful food plated for our group. The excellent value for was mentioned by many (which was helped by sponsorship from the HMAA budget).
The lunch was an opportunity to introduce new members and friends to some of the committee and for them to meet those who have been with the association for a while. Apologies came in from those who couldn’t attend and well wishes were passed on.
The afternoon concluded with a little side-trip across the road to a private cafe located on the 32nd floor above Greenwood Plaza. The views across Sydney Harbour and beyond were breathtaking. “In all the years of living here, I’ve never seen Sydney like this before” was a comment to end a lovely time together as we look forward to another year ahead.
