HMA Victoria held its Annual General Meeting on August 15, at which two of its longest standing committee members were honoured for their years of service to HMA.
Leigh Siebler, a foundation member of HMAV, was presented with the President’s Award for his 25 years’ service on the committee. For 10 of those years he held the position of president and Victoria’s representative on the HMAA Board. Leigh has now decided to step down from the committee. Congratulations, Leigh, and thanks for your tremendous contribution to HMA!
This AGM was also Jim Fogarty’s last as HMAV president. He has been a member of the committee for 16 years and president for the past 9 years (as well as current HMAA president.
It is without doubt Jim’s attention to fiscal management, due diligence and governance issues that has seen his term at the helm of HMAV, and also HMAA, as a period of change and consolidation. His legacy builds on those of his predecessors and ensures both the local and national associations are on financially and legally sound foundations moving into the future.
Jim was awarded Honorary Life Membership of HMAV in recognition of his outstanding service to horticulture and the media. A well deserved honour. HMAV thanks Jim for his years of service and wishes him well as he stands down from the presidency.
