PBR Search – In May, IP Australia launched a new PBR Search with modern design and functionality. They encourage you to give the new system a try and let them know what you think. Your feedback will also help inform the timing to decommission the old PBR Database Search in the coming months.
New economic research published – Understanding the Economic Impact of Plant Breeder’s Rights in Australia – IP Australia’s latest report in partnership with Swinburne University of Technology uses data collected from a survey of Australian organisations with PBR. It highlights the cost of pursuing a PBR and PBR’s importance in commercialisation and incentives to invest in new varieties. This builds upon the economic research work they published last year.
