This week an inaugural Parliamentary Friends of Greenlife event took centre stage in the Federal Parliament House courtyard. The event was part of Greenlife Industry Australia’s ambitious 40 X 40 plan (40 per cent urban green infrastructure cover by 2040) and saw the plan presented to MPs.
CEO of GIA, Sean Cole, said while the event was successful, it is just the beginning of his plan to get greenlife recognised and funded as essential infrastructure by seeking federal, state and local government to officially recognise and fund greenlife as ‘Essential Infrastructure’. He hopes to submit a funding request on behalf of the greenlife industry to treasury later in the year when applications open.
