After 38 years presenting gardening segments for TV’s ‘Gardening Australia’, Jane Edmanson OAM has retired from the show as its longest serving presenter. Jane, who is a founding member of HMAA, was awarded a Gold Laurel in 2016. She also hosted a long-running talkback radio show for 3AW and, before ‘Gardening Australia’ hosted the state-based garden show ‘Sow What’.
The announcement of Jane’s TV retirement (although she says she doesn’t like that word) has drawn accolades from throughout the nursery, garden and landscape world and from her many fans.
Jane’s final segment went to air on November 27 and can be viewed on ABC iView. To read more of Jane’s long television career see this news story from the ABC.
She says she will continue to work in her own garden and in the community. She will also continue to support the nursery industry.
“I’m moving back from ‘Gardening Australia’, but I’m still doing a lot in the horticultural industry,” said Jane, who plans to continue volunteering at botanic gardens and sharing her passion for plants and people by giving gardening talks to community groups.
