Botanica celebrates 25 years of travel

Several HMAA members took part in the Botanica World Discoveries annual conference in mid-March. Judy Horton was one of the group and reports here.

We were based at the fabulous Royal Mail Hotel in Dunkeld VIC where we had the opportunity to tour the extensive kitchen garden that supplies the hotel’s top-rated restaurants. We also had the privilege of a visit to Allan and Maria Myers’ private garden where the principal focus is on native plants.

Ben Zeeman and Aggie Stevenson from the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority gave us a memorable presentation on endangered native grasses and wildflower restoration and the conference finished with a visit to Botanica founder Judy Vanrenen and her husband Peter’s country property. Here we celebrated Botanica’s 25th birthday. Congratulations to all!
