HMAA – where it all began

This photo was taken in February 1994 at the inaugural meeting of HMA (now HMAA), which was held in Adelaide in conjunction with a nursery industry conference. Those in attendance were: (seated left to right) Jon Lamb (SA), Noelle Weatherley and Anita Boucher (Vic), Jennifer Stackhouse (NSW) nursing Eleanor Rose Taylor (10 weeks old), Tony Herve (SA), John Colwill (WA), Elwyn Swane (NSW) and Michael Keelan (SA); standing: Jo Lidgerwood (Vic), lan Doyle, Trevor Nottle and Malcolm Campbell (SA), Neil Williams and Kevin Heinze (Vic) and Paul Munn (SA). Sadly, some of those inaugural members are no longer with us but I can report that Eleanor (then a baby is now a 31-year-old living and working on the Gold Coast where she has just weathered her first cyclone). Thanks to Noelle Weatherley for unearthing this bit of HMAA history and the caption in our ‘archives’. The photo was printed in the first colour issue of HMA News in 2000.
