Senior Curator (Horticulture and Living Collections) Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens

About the role

  • This critical role is a key component of the Strategic Master Plan for the Botanical Gardens.
  • You will use your management skills to lead the horticulture team.
  • Cultivate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the Living Collections Master Plan and Tasmanian Flora Conservation Plan.
  • Play a critical role in the assessment of tree health throughout the gardens maintaining safety standards.

 Our ideal candidate has

  • Experience in horticulture and arboriculture.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams.
  • A growth mindset to learn new practices and contribute to the safety management of the site.

About us

Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) is a State Government statutory body, governed under the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Act 2002 and is administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.  A seven member RTBG Board is appointed by the Minister to manage the RTBG, with a director appointed to manage day-to-day operations within the Gardens.
